Lake George Trip for Memorial Day

I absolutely LOVE Memorial Day at Lake George. It feels like we're getting a bonus summer weekend, with the thrill of knowing that the entire season is ahead of us, with lots of sunny days on Hulett's Landing to look forward to.

First off, a shout out to Aunt Patty, who drove up and back with the girls and me, and makes my rides fun and bearable. I love watching her with my girls, because seeing how much they adore her reminds me of how much I loved being around her when I was little. She is still the "coolest aunt ever!"

The weather was cold Friday night, but Sunday couldn't have been better. The girls got their time down in the sand and even got to dip their little toes in the water. Maddie and Keeley were true cousin buddies, as usual, loving each other or driving each other nuts, depending on the moment. Cora was hesitant to get out of the wagon and play, which was strange, but relaxing for me!

Baby James made his maiden voyage over the mountain to Lake George, and couldn't be cuter. Aunt Kerin was smart to bring the "jumparoo" so that she could have hands free, and he could bounce to his hearts content.

Had to get one last picture in of Nanny and Papa with their grandkids, down at the famous frog pond.

Memorial Day Parade

Every year I look forward to the hometown Memorial Day Parade in Bethel. It's 35 minutes start to finish, making it very easy for infants and toddlers to enjoy. With our proximity on foot to town, I only need to put the girls in the wagon and walk three blocks and we are in prime viewing location. This year we had the perfect spot in front of Dr. Mike's Ice Cream, and Keeley was able to appreciate all of the groups marching, from the Little League, to the Girl Scouts, and most importantly, the War Veterans. Two highlights were seeing our friend Sam Ferrier with his Little League team and seeing our next door neighbor, Ralph, with the bagpipes.

Mother's Day 2015

Mother's Day has become so special to me since I have become a mother; I love the simplicity and universality of its message to appreciate and honor mothers for their consistent and unconditional love. It reminds me of my own beautiful Mom, and my two wonderful grandmothers who have shaped me throughout my life in countless ways.

THis year, Keeley made a present for me at preschool that was a watercolored craft accompanied with a card that said "I'm your biggest fan."

Kerin and Sean had us all over for a little brunch on their back deck on actual Mother's Day and since my birthday was the day before, we celebrated with a little of my favorite, chocolate cake!

Ready to Splash!

May surprised us with a string of days in the high 80s. The kids couldn't wait to get out the water table and the baby pool, and I was all for it. Keeley got her first "two piece" bathing suit from Mary Ferriter in the mail and I can't get her to take it off.
