Daddy's Home

The best part of my day is at 5:00 when Keeley and I look out the bay window and she recognizes our red station wagon pulling in the driveway... "Daddy's Home!" The legs start kicking and the arms start moving and it is clear that Keeley is VERY EXCITED to see Emmet open that car door and walk toward our house. It's amazing how much she's changing each week, getting more and more personality with each passing day.

Quality Time with Nana

Nana RoRo paid us a special visit on the last few days of her trip up north spoiling us with home cooked meals and lots of babysitting hours with Keeley!

Holyoke- Day 2

Of course, the Mengel's had their time with Keeley, too. Uncle Mark was a big hit Saturday night when Keeley found that biting on the edge of his Scotch glass was very comforting, and our visit at the Mount with Great Nana was lovely, as always.

St. Patrick's Day in Holyoke

Keeley spent her first St. Patrick's Day at the Holyoke Road Race (10K), a family tradition of the Ferriters for many years. Emmet's family recalls the days when he was a baby rooting on his own Dad on the same route. Adorned in her Irish wool sweater and green bib, Keeley looked the part of the Irish "Colleen."

Danielle, Mike and Nolan were able to meet us for a bit to enjoy some Irish music and Guinness. All of us shared some laughs when we had to change our babies on a park bench amidst the crowds- gotta do what you gotta do!

Saturday night, Peggy made us a delicious St. Patty's Day meal, and Sunday morning Keeley got some quality time with her great Gram and Grandpa and her Aunties Katherine and Great Aunt Mae Mae

With the Grand Marshal of the parade, giving us a grumpy face!
 Serenaded by "Amma"
 Morning exercises with Mary
Next year corn beef and potatoes, for now... oatmeal and pears will have to do
Teething on everything!

Our New Home in Bethel

After 4 months living at home in West Babylon, NY, with Emmet rotating at St. John's hospital in Far Rockaway, NY, we finally got our own place in Connecticut. Emmet was able to get his Psychiatry rotation at Danbury hospital and his surgery rotation in Bridgeport, so that was the impetus to head north. He will then try to complete the remainder of his work in Danbury and/or Bridgeport or Waterbury until he graduates in May 2013.

We feel so fortunate to have found a 3 bedroom house in this quaint little village, with walking distance to the library, grocery store and the park. I am so anxious to check out all of the shops and restaurants and to get involved with other stay at home Moms in the area. Keeley and I are on a first name basis already with our mailman, the Russian librarian, and the cashier at our food market, Caraluzzis, so it's small town feel for sure.

Lots of work being done on the lawn and exterior, but it's our own and we love it!

Thank You

It's hard to believe our time at "Nanny and Grandpop's" house has finally come to an end after almost five months here in West Babylon. We can never thank you enough, Mom and Dad, for taking us in during this big transition to med school rotations in New York, and more importantly, to parenthood! We love you so much. Keeley will miss seeing you everyday but we will be sure to see you as often as possible- only 1 2/2 hours to Bethel!

She's Gone Bananas!

Two weeks ago Keeley had the go ahead after a month of rice, oat, and barley cereal to start on fruits. Apples were a little bit of a disappointment for me, as she only halfheartedly licked some off the spoon. However, today I gave her bananas for the first time and she could not slurp them up fast enough!

To top it off,  a few hours after her potassium boost, she rolled over for the first time back to front on her own and couldn't stop rolling all afternoon. Big day for Keeley Rose!

Surprise Visitor

Uncle Conor surprised us on Monday with a three hour visit on his spring break road trip up to New England! Keeley was in heaven playing with her Dad and her Godfather.

Conor found my Grandpa's old banjo and Keeley was his biggest fan!
