Halloween in Bethel

Keeley had received a "Doc McStuffin's" costume from Mary Ferriter for her birthday and had decided on wearing it on Halloween a month ago. However, as is typical of four year old girls, she decided the day of that being Anna and Elsa from Frozen would be more fun for the "Trick or Treat Street" in town for her and Cora. I couldn't argue- they looked pretty cute and I had the dress up available, so that's what we went with.

Our good friends, the Levesques, and the Zupans met at our house to park before we all walked down to enjoy the fun filled, candy crazed fun on the green, and trick or treat at all the local businesses.

Jack O'Lantern

Halloween Eve wouldn't be Halloween Eve without carving a Jack O'Lantern with Daddy. The girls were very into it- we made him mean and scary!

Apple Picking at Blue Jay

We got to Blue Jay Orchards one more time for some apple picking on a beautiful fall day yesterday. The girls had a blast picking apples and going home to make apple pie. What's better than OCtober in New England? :)

Castle Hill Farm

One of my favorite things about fall is going to all the great farms we have here in Bethel and Newtown. My favorite farm is Paproski's Castle Hill Farm. They have a breathtaking piece of property, which comes alive with all of the foliage, complete with cows and all the farm animals, and seasonal hayrides, pumpkin picking and a little petting zoo.

We were lucky enough to go twice this year, once as a family, and once for the Zupan's birthday party for Maddie and Evie. Below we have our annual "birthday buddies" picture of Keeley, with her same birthday week friends that she's known since their first year, and a picture of all the Moms who make my life as a Mom so much more fun and lighthearted.

Happy 4th Birthday Keeley!

With every passing birthday, I wonder, where does the time go? In some ways, the day Keeley was born in Miami, Florida feels like yesterday and in other ways, it feels like a lifetime ago. Looking at Keeley today, in her new fall outfit and boots and her "purple fairy wings," which is all she asked for from Mom and Dad, I am in awe of the little girl she has become.

As always, there was no shortage of celebrations. Keeley was able to have her classmates sing to her at Village Preschool on Tuesday, her Mommy, Daddy and Cora sing to her on her actual birthday on Wednesday, and all of her favorite old friends from playgroup and the neighborhood sing to her on Thursday at her "Doc McStuffins" party.

We did a little craft so that the kids could make their own "The Doc Is In" Sign

We played pin the bandaid on "Stuffy" - ( after three kids put the bandaid directly on the blue dragon, I realized they could all see through the blindfold- whoops!)

But mostly, the kids all just ran in circles in the yard, and chased each other laughing, the thing that children do best. All in all, I'd say Keeley had a pretty memorable 4th birthday :)

Aunt Lizzie in CT

Liz made our whole weekend when she took time from her NYC business trip to trek up to Bethel and make some fall memories with the girls and Emmet and me.

We went up to March Farm in Bethlehem on a cold and rainy day, but didn't let the closed sign stop us form visiting the goats and enjoying the scenery!

Liz shares her love of reading with Keels at bedtime!

Emmet took Liz to the airport and they brought the girls for a day at the Bronx Zoo on the way down to NY. What a treat, and a perfect day for Mom to put her feet up and rest :)
