Nana Ro in town

Nana Ro came for two weeks this June to visit family and friends, and we were able to spend Emmet's first Father's Day at home in Bethel all together.

We took a nice hike in Huntington Park and showed Rosalie our favorite trail to take Keeley on.

Nana Mengel turns 95

Paul and Allison hosted a big party put on by the Mengel clan for their beloved "Nana". The weather was beautiful and we got to spend a got part of the afternoon chatting outside and playing cornhole, a new family hit.

Welcome Madeleine Mae!!!!

Finally, after a long labor, Maddie Mae arrived on June 15th at around 1am. She has lots of dark hair, just like Kerin did and beautiful little red cheeks! Congrats to the new Mommy and Daddy!

Waiting for Baby Gleason

Kerin's Due Date has come and gone and we are all anxiously waiting to see who is in that belly and when they will come out! In the meantime, Keeley and I headed out to WB and then to Brooklyn in anticipation.

Our 8 month old explorer

It feels like Keeley has wanted to go, see and learn about everything since the day she was born. The thing is that now she is physically becoming able to do so! This is how I found her this morning when I came in from getting a glass of water.  Aside from putting her in the Pack N Play, these are my only ways of keeping her contained and safe lately:

My Mom suggested getting her a walker- that was a GodSend. Now we play hide-N-Seek around the house as she races to catch me on our hardwood floors.

I find the laundry basket somehow works at entertaining her for about 15 minutes. She loves chewing on the sides, and I love that I know exactly where she is ;)

Pulling herself up constantly leads to countless bumps and bruises that have become part of our daily routine now, it seems. Here she is after pulling up on her lawn mower and landing on her bum.

Although she does not crawl in the traditional way, she moves about pretty quickly in what Emmet likes to call "the wounded soldier" where she drags her right knee and steps on her left foot. This week, she also started "bear crawling," up on all fours, which looks a lot harder but she prefers it.
