Maury's First Trip to Long Island

When I found out my Grandpa Fitz was in the hospital, I couldn't get there fast enough. But I wound up having to wait until Emmet had off for vacation to travel down with the children so that I could stay with Maury. The kids love every minute in West Babylon, from their tea and doll play with Grandma, to their funny conversations with Grandpa Fitz, to their endless stream of relatives hugging them at my parents' house. This time they had Aunt Kathy and Uncle Rob all to themselves, and a special trip to Lynbrook on the way home to see "Aunt Bri and Chris."

Winter Visitors

When our close friend from medical school ever calls me and says she is driving to Maine and needs a place to stay, I am over the moon. We miss our Phillips so much since we are back from Dominica and all of us are busy raising kids and moving through the medical school journey at the same time. Charlie and Crew had a ball with Keeley and Cora and Taylor and I laughed every bit of the way as we caught up on everything in the whirlwind of keeping the kids safe, fed and happy.

Danielle and the boys also came to meet Maury and get some winter energy out, and we had a blast.

Cora's First Haircut

It took this bald beauty two years, but she finally got hair, and beautiful blonde, curly hair it was. But it has gotten a bit crazy and has some stragglers lately that are all different lengths, so I took Keeley and Cora to Darcy's house for a playdate/haircut. Cora did very well, I might add, and did not move a muscle. As you can see, she was very proud of herself, and very happy with her new look.

Maury Emmet- 2 months old

Can't get enough of this handsome and good natured angel. I still can't believe we really have a son!

Valentine's Day

As usual the girls were spoiled with cards and treats from everyone from their grandparents, to my college roommates. Becca sent them bags from the GAP this year, which I'm sure I didn't have until I was at least 20. They also got some fun art supplies, which we always appreciate, when needing to kill an hour in the afternoon :)

Happy First Valentine's Day Maury Emmet! And Happy I survived 3 kids to this Holy Cross Onesie!

Our Winter Baby

I had a lot of reservations about having a winter baby, because I remember how homebound I felt after both Keeley and Cora were born for a few months, and I also remember how isolated I felt last winter with the kids and the weather keeping us in. I figured a newborn would just make me feel even more trapped. Both in truth, the exact opposite happened. Maury has made me feel so calm and cozy, that there is no where I would rather be on these winter days, than stuck at home with these three. It helps a lot, that everyone is home at this time of year, and so I don't feel as though having a baby is what is keeping me from going about town. In fact, it is a great excuse not to do anything! He has been the most snuggly and sleepy little boy, and he has made this winter my most happy and memorable yet.

The girls love to get down on this quilt and do "tummy time" with little Maury. They keep asking me when he will crawl and walk.

My peaceful little soul

I can't help but take pictures of these monkey when they ask to hold Maury and insist on cramming into the glider al together. I can't believe they're all mine.

My pride and joy.

Snow Days

Luckily this winter is not shaping up to be as snowy and cold as last year, so we were actually excited after a warm January to get a good snowstorm in February. Keeley was dying to get out on skis in the backyard, which melted Emmet's heart. Cora was still not too excited about playing in the snow this year, or about leaving Mommy's side, but would not leave her window as she watched Keels and Emmet playing in the backyard. Maury, as always, was happy to snooze peacefully in his favorite infant seat.
