God Bless my Mom and Dad

My recovery after this C-section was slow and there was no way I could take care of these three without being able to drive, so my Mom and Dad rescued us again, covering all house cooking, cleaning and all rides to preschool so Emmet could go back to work with peace of mind that we had it all under control. We love you Nanny and Papa! Grandparents of 5!

Trip to Holyoke

Emmet took the girls to see Grandpa, Grandma and Mary on the day after Christmas to let Maury and me get some rest and to spend some fun time with the Ferriters.

A Very Maury Christmas

Words could never express how simple, how magical and how surreal this Christmas was. Here are a few picture of Maury's first Christmas at home.

A Christmas Angel

On December 17th, while Emmet was at the Village Square Christmas party in town, I started to feel a little different and have some light contractions. By 6 am my water had broken and we were off to the hospital, in shock that our sweet baby was really coming a month early. One long emergency C-Section later, and we opened our watery eyes to see our first born son, Maury Emmet Ferriter. We will never forget this day, this beautiful blessing that is our little boy, this relief that he is healthy and well, and that we get to take him home. After 5 days in the hospital, Mom and baby were discharged, just in time for Christmas Eve. Nothing made me happier during my hospital recovery that seeing my little girls come visit and experience the feeling of being together as a family of 5 for the first time.

December Traditions

It was really special this December to see that there are things the girls were asking to do that they kept in their memory banks from last year at Christmas time. One of these is the St. Mary's Carnival where they are matched with a student from ST. Mary's Catholic School and are able to make an ornament to take home. This is where we met our babysitter Angela last year and the girls have come to absolutely love her.  We finished our morning at church by stopping at the Bethel Firehouse for our Christmas tree- this year, we made sure we measured it first!

Also for the second time around, we went to the Danbury Railroad to take the train to see Santa. We met the Young Family this year, our new friends that we met through Village Preschool and had a lot of fun seeing MR. And Mrs. Claus and getting a ride around the train yard.

Lastly, below, are some pictures of Keeley and Cora at Keeley's Village Preschool holiday party, complete with treats for all the kids and the presentation of a handmade wreath of macaroni that Keeley made for Mommy and Daddy. Definitely a keeper :)
