Memorial Day Monday at home

Monday, we spent a relaxing day as a family. It was a scorcher, getting up to 90 degrees in most of the Northeast. Keeley tried out her bathing suit and kiddie pool for the first time.

Also, Emmet and I tried our hand at gardening- we will see how many tomatoes, cucumbers and red peppers we get out of it.

Fun times with the Ferriter Clan

We spent a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend up at Emmets' grandparents in Holyoke, MA. On the way, we stopped to see "Great Nana" at the Mount.

We took full advantage of Grandma and Grandpa to babysit so we could get out and run around the reservoir Saturday morning. Grandpa still has the magic touch. It was also so much fun to see Emmet's Uncle Joe and Aunt Jennie who were in from Utah for a Amherst Reunion with Emmet's cousin Kelton; Auntie Mary was in from Boston, as well.

Keeley enjoying her ride on "the horse"- Grandpa's knees still have it after all those kids and grand kids!

Keeley couldn't get enough of watching Kelton run and play with "Amma" and "Papa." She also got some "crawling lessons" from Grandpa Ferriter and Kelton both mornings, who would call to her, "On your knees, Keeley, on you knees!"

Mary, Emmet and I went to Northampton on Saturday for a stroll around town. Keeley even took a nice nap for us so we could have a cold beer at the brewery before we headed home.

We pushed Keeley's dinner and bedtime back so she would not miss happy hour, a time honored tradition at Longfellow Road.

Sunday, we all went to mass as a family. Keeley said her first word in the middle of the service: "Dada."

Happy Birthday Nolan!

We went to Nolan's birthday party in Westfield on our way home from Holyoke and Keeley was very excited to see her buddy and play with all of his toys.

Aunt Patty comes to Bethel

Aunt Patty finished her semester a few weeks ago and took the time to come visit us at our new home. Keeley loved the special one on one time and the hike in Huntington Park :)

Justyne's 1rst Birthday Party

Danielle and I headed down to Long Island for our friend Lisa's daughter's 1rst birthday party on Saturday. Justyne was so busy socializing that I didn't even get a picture of her in her pretty dress. However, here are some shots of our little ones from the weekend.

Keeley with her buddy Nolan, watching his every move!

K and Fritz back in Bethel!

Katherine and Fritz came up for the weekend, bringing with them the best present a Mom could ever imagine- the backyard game "Cornhole" or "Bags." Our backyard not only has grass now, but it has a super fun activity for the summer up and running.

Aside from enjoying our home and a few beers out back, we took a long hike in Huntington Park, a beautiful place here in Redding, CT. Keeley loved it all.

Saturday night, we got to see Fritz at his best watching his team, the Boston Celtics. Yes, jerseys were kept on the whole time.

And then, a Sunday morning good-bye after a lovely brunch in town at "Jacqueline's".

Mother's Day Weekend

As a kid, I always remember Mother's Day as a time that we made nice cards for Mom, spent time with Mommy and Grandma and ran around with our cousins for the rest of the day. Even as a little girl, I knew that I wanted to be a Mom someday, caring for my dolls as if they were real. It was surreal this year to really feel a part of the holiday, to look at Keeley and know that I am a Mom now and will be a Mom forever.

Here's my beautiful Mama, now a beautiful "Nanny"
