Memorial Day Parade

One of my favorite events in Bethel every year is the Memorial Day parade, and the girls always feel so special that we can walk there downtown to it from our house. I will really miss this proximity to the action when we move. Maury cooperated, as always, by taking a nice nap along the parade route despite sirens and bands passing by, and the girls enjoyed some delicious ice cream from Dr. Mike's as we watched. What a beautiful American tradition, and a beautiful day in the neighborhood :)

Mother's Day 2016

We had the Gleason's over for Mother's Day, and the sun came out just in time for us all to get outside and run around a bit before our first BBQ steak of the season (thanks to Emmet coming off night shift- he's a jolly good fellow). Nanny and Papa were here from Long Island, which is alway a treat for everyone, and the cousins provided their typical giggles and laughter as background noise the whole afternoon.

Lucky me got to celebrate my 33rd birthday with all the people I love most. Looks old on paper as I type it, but I never felt better than eating cake with three children to call my own, and a husband off from work to share it with us.

God bless my Mom on Mother's Day and every day; she is a saint.

Ferriter-Moore visitors

Auntie K, being the best aunt ever, drove all the way down from Boston in a rental car to see us and spend the weekend. The girls were on cloud 9. To keep up with tradition when Katherine is here, we took her to see some caged animals, this time at a nature preserve down in Wilton, and we all went out to lunch on the way back in Ridgefield. Katherine recently announced that she is expecting a baby  girl in October, and we are SOOOO happy for her and Uncle Bitz!!

Papa Tom also dropped in this spring, while on a business trip, and got to meet Maury Emmet. It's about time he had some male companionship during his stays in Bethel :)

All smiles with Papa Tom after Dunkin Donuts for breakfast and Burger King for lunch. No one spoils you like a grandparent :)

Spring has Sprung

When you live in New England, you go out and grab any sunny day that you get, and you soak it in and play in it as much as you can. That's what Sunday was for us. We took the girls out on their bikes at Putnam Park, and then out for ice cream at Ferris Acres, two of our favorite family gems, both within ten minutes of home.

Girls looked good on wheels, Keeley proceeding with caution along the pond, and Cora searching for the rocky parts of the path... "bumps are so fun"

Still have not grown out of the old favorite past time, throwing stones with Daddy
 Cheese
Ferris Acres, open for season 2016. Can life get any sweeter?
