Last Trip up to the Lake for 2014

I looked at the month of August on the calendar a million times to try and squeeze one last trip up to Lake George in this year. When Aunt Patty agreed to be my driving buddy to and from, I had no excuse. It seems we had the four most beautiful days of the summer there, 85 and sunny. The girls were in heaven, as was I, although we missed Emmet, of course.

These above four pictures are taken on my Uncle Patrick's front lawn. He has the best location, in my opinion, on the whole landing, with the brooke alongside on the left, meeting the lake in front. Keeley loved climbing up the brooke in her bare feet, feeling the different temperatures of the water as she changed spots.

This is my grandmother and grandfather's cottage, still looking pretty much the same after all these years. I love meeting Uncle Dennis on the porch every morning when I go for my early morning walk with the girls.

Building sand castles is big for Keeley now, and Cora just likes to ingest as much sand as possible until I move her onto the grass.

Here are my power team of helpers, my Mom, Aunt Patty and Uncle Dennis, all of whom took turns helping me with the girls so I could have fun at Huletts, too. This picture of Aunt Patty in her 30 year old throw back neon sunglasses is my favorite one of the week.

Below, Papa takes Keels for her last ice cream cone at the Soda Fountain, until next year. I'm not sure who is more excited :)

Kathleen and Will get Hitched!

We had a blast at Kathleen and Will's wedding, right here in Ridgefield and later in Monroe. Because it was local, we got to bring the girls to the church to see all of their family, and then of course, got a babysitter for the reception. Typical Fitzpatrick family fun :)

Just some BackYard Shots

I am in love with this photo. It seems timeless- sitting on the stoop in summer having a little snack with a sister. Life doesn't get much better.

Meet our new neighbor, "Pyper, " Ralph and Cheryl's black lab puppy. Keeley is in love with her, Cora is not so sure, and I am just happy there is one next door so that I don't have to get one for ten years.

The girls are very into this flower bush lately, because it attracts butterflies and bees.

A few shots my friend, Leah, sent me from Parloa Park, where I spend at least 3 afternoons a week.

And just a little tender moment between my little monsters...

Simsbury Boys now Family Men

In the old days, we would go up to Simsbury to hang out with Emmet's old high school friends, sit around telling old stories and drink beer until 2 in the morning. This past Saturday, when we went to Pat and Emily's for a BBQ, it was hilarious to see how drastically things have changed for all of us in three short years- now totaling 5 children between us. Nonetheless, always a fun time, now with a lot more chasing tow heads and a huge effort put into making little ones eat their dinner.

Everyday IPhone Pictures

I feel very blessed to be home with Keeley and Cora everyday. I sometimes walk into a room when I'm carrying a laundry basket or turn around when I'm doing the dishes and I'm in awe of the fact that the little faces looking up at me are my daughters, and I get to keep them. For that reason, I love my Iphone, so I can capture the image and keep it for always. Here are some of the moments from this summer at home, the day to day, the simple joys of being with your children while they're young and innocent and sweet.
